Letting Go

Pilot is the first episode of the first season of Body of Proof.

BackgroundEdit

Dr. Megan Hunt was previously a neurosurgeon. She was in a car accident 5 years ago. It was because she ran a red traffic light while on the phone (assuming with her husband) arguing about her not being able to pick her daughter up because she had a surgery scheduled. After the accident, she suffers from paresthesia which no one can seem to understand or treat. This condition leads to her killing her patient while operating on the patient's tumour on her optic nerve.

This makes her leave neurosurgery and become a medical examiner as she can't kill someone who is dead.

PlotEdit

In this episode, Megan and her partner investigate the death of a young woman named Angela Swanson, who was killed from a blow to the head while jogging. The DNA evidence proves that Angela was having an affair with her boss, Brad.

Megan's investigation shows that Angela was poisoned which caused her to pass out and hit her head. Brad's wife confesses to poisoning Angela's sport drink after he discovered Brad and Angela having sex.

Meanwhile, Megan's ex-husband was granted full custody of their 12-year-old daughter, Lacey during their divorce 5 years ago due to Megan's job demanding so many hours. Megan gives Lacey a key to her apartment where she is always welcome.
